ഞായറാഴ്ച രാവിലെ ലഭിച്ച ഉപഗ്രഹ ചിത്രങ്ങളുടെ അടിസ്ഥാനത്തിൽ രാജ്യത്തിന്റെ ഏകദേശം 60 മുതൽ 70 ശതമാനം വരെ ഭൂപ്രദേശം മേഘാവൃതമായിരുന്നുവെന്ന് ഇന്ത്യൻ കാലാവസ്ഥാ വകുപ്പ് (India Meteorological Department - IMD) വിലയിരുത്തുന്നു.
