CUSAT–MoES Sign MOU to Strengthen National Marine Research Collaboration
Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) and the Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES), Government of India, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) aimed at strengthening joint research, academic collaboration, and capacity building in the fields of marine and earth system sciences. The MoU was signed by Dr. Mahesh Kumar, Director, Centre for Marine Living Resources and Ecology (CMLRE), and Dr. Arun A. U., Registrar, CUSAT.

As part of this agreement, CUSAT will collaborate with five major research institutions under MOES — the National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT), Chennai; INCOIS, Hyderabad; NCPOR, Goa; IITM, Pune; and CMLRE, Kochi.The MoU enables joint supervision of research scholars, student internships, access to national research facilities, participation in research cruises, polar expeditions, and ocean observation missions.
The collaboration is expected to play a key role in enhancing national marine research capacity and positioning CUSAT as a leading centre for marine research in the country.
