ന്യൂസിലാൻഡിന്റെ കാലാവസ്ഥാ ഏജൻസിയായ MetService രാജ്യത്താകമാനം 20ഓളം ശക്തമായ മഴയും കാറ്റും സംബന്ധിച്ച വാച്ചുകൾ (heavy rain & strong wind watches) പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.
ഇത് “ജീവൻപോലും അപകടത്തിലാക്കുന്ന സംഭവമാണെന്ന്(potentially life-threatening event) അധികൃതർ അറിയിച്ചു.

മഴ മുന്നറിയിപ്പുകൾ (Rain Watches & Warnings)
വിവിധ മേഖലകളിൽ വ്യത്യസ്ത സമയങ്ങളിലായി ശക്തമായ മഴയ്ക്ക് മുന്നറിയിപ്പുകൾ നൽകിയിട്ടുണ്ട്:
• Northland: ശനി രാത്രി 9pm മുതൽ ഞായർ 9am വരെ

മഴയുടെ തോത് (Rainfall Intensity)
ചില പ്രദേശങ്ങളിൽ 18–24 മണിക്കൂറിനുള്ളിൽ 100 മുതൽ 200 mm വരെ മഴ ലഭിക്കും.
ഇത് ഒരു മാസത്തെ മഴയ്ക്കു തുല്യമാണ് (monthly rainfall equivalent).
