UK Weather Update: Wet in south Sunday but turning colder from the north

Today:
Sunny spells and showers for most, heaviest and most frequent over southern Scotland and northern England with the odd rumble of thunder possible. Winds easing from the west. More persistent rain arriving in far southwest later.

Tonight:
Rain moving across much of Wales, south and central England, some heavy. Perhaps some very strong winds along channel coasts. Colder with showers to the north, becoming wintry far north.

Sunday:
Rain in south gradually clearing south and east. Colder air in north spreading to all but far southwest. Showers for north and east Scotland and northeast England.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:
Cold on Monday but mostly dry with sunny spells. Turning milder Tuesday onward with spells of rain, heavy at times, spreading in from the west.
