Rain, extreme cold and snowfall from Wednesday, country under low pressure, authorities warn in Kuwait
The Meteorological Department has warned of significant changes in the weather in Kuwait in the coming days. Isolated rain and dust storms are possible in various parts of the country today. Authorities also stated that there is a possibility of snowfall in agricultural areas and desert areas from Wednesday to Friday.
Country under low pressure
The country will be under a low pressure from today, said Darar Al-Ali, acting director of the department. The relatively warm and humid air flow that comes with this will cause rain and southeasterly winds. This is also likely to raise dust storms in some places.
Extreme cold at night
Although a slight increase in temperatures is expected until Wednesday evening, the warning is that the cold air flow with high pressure that will arrive tonight will change the situation. Northwesterly winds gusting to 15 to 50 kmph are likely to cause dust storms and waves of more than six feet at sea. There is a significant drop in temperature on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. While the maximum temperature on these days will be between 17 degrees Celsius and 20 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature is likely to drop to 4 to 11 degrees Celsius. Due to this, moderate cold will be experienced during the day and severe cold at night, the Meteorological Department said.
