Isolated Heavy Rain Possible Today In Kerala
More areas in Kerala will receive rain on Thiruvonam day today. Isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall was reported at some places in the last 24 hours. Idukki, Ernakulam, Malappuram and Kozhikode districts received rainfall. Idukki district recorded 6 cm of rainfall yesterday. Other districts received moderate rain or drizzle. had reported that the state would receive rain from yesterday. The reason for the rainfall is cloud formation in the Arabian Sea and the influence of cyclones in the Pacific Ocean. The Madame Julian Oscillation (MJO), a global rainfall system, is about to come to the Indian Ocean. The next few days are expected to see a change in the atmosphere where rainfall in north India is relatively low and rainfall in south India increases.

On thiruvonam day today, isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall or moderate rain can be expected in the coastal and Edanad areas of Thrissur district. Malappuram and Ernakulam districts will also receive rain today.

There may also be heavy rains in the north-western parts of Thrissur. There is a high possibility of rain in south Kerala after noon. Rainfall is likely to intensify in the eastern parts of central Kerala in the afternoon. Though kannur and Kasargod districts will receive relatively less rainfall, there is a possibility of rain from northern districts like Kozhikode, Wayanad, Malappuram etc.
