Kerala Weather 27/02/26: Rain Decreases, Heat Rises; Fog to Persist
In Kerala, the atmospheric conditions that caused rainfall over the past few days have weakened, and rain is expected to decrease from today (Friday). Along with Kerala, rainfall is also reducing in Tamil Nadu. At the same time, temperatures are beginning to rise in both states.
However, isolated rainfall is still likely in parts of Kerala today. Eastern regions of Kozhikode, Thrissur, and Ernakulam districts may receive isolated moderate to heavy showers.
Temperature to Rise
Daytime temperatures in northern Kerala are expected to rise to around 36°C. Since widespread rainfall occurred yesterday, southern and central districts may experience relatively lower temperatures today compared to other regions.
In the coming days, heat will intensify across southern districts and in Tamil Nadu. Interior districts of Tamil Nadu such as Erode, Salem, and Vellore may see daytime temperatures crossing 40°C. Meanwhile, temperatures in Andhra Pradesh are also expected to approach 40°C.
Fog Will Not Completely Clear
Temperatures are also set to rise in Telangana and Karnataka in the coming days. Satellite imagery indicates the continued presence of moisture over Kerala; however, the overall conditions for widespread rainfall are gradually weakening.
Morning fog is likely in Kannur, Thrissur, and Ernakulam districts, as well as in eastern Kozhikode and Wayanad. In Tamil Nadu, fog is also expected in Coimbatore, Ooty, Tiruppur, Erode, Valparai, and Pollachi.
