Magnitude 5.2 earthquake jolts Jammu and Kashmir’s Gulmarg

An earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale hit Gulmarg in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday morning. According to the National Center for Seismology (NCS) report, the epicenter was 129 km below the Earth’s surface, 184 km from Gulmarg. No damage was reported.

According to officials, Jammu and Kashmir has experienced 12 earthquakes of varying intensity since June this year. Earlier, an earthquake of magnitude 4.9 was felt in Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district on July 10.

Doda district was hit by a 5.4-magnitude earthquake on June 13, causing cracks in dozens of buildings, including houses.
