The low pressure formed in the Bay of Bengal yesterday continues in the Strait of Malacca. The low-pressure area has started moving towards the east coast of India. Today (28/11/23) and tomorrow will intensify into a deep depression. It will then turn into Cyclone “Michaung” Pronounce as “Migjaum”). As of now, there are indications that it will make landfall along the Odisha/Andhra Pradesh coast.

The conditions are still favourable for the formation of a cyclone in the Bay of Bengal. The low pressure will bring rain in Kerala only after 2 days. Low-pressure rainfall is expected over the east coast of India and Kerala in the first week of December. After moving towards tamil nadu coast, it is likely to recurve and move towards Odisha coast.
There is a possibility of isolated rain in Kerala today with thundershowers in Sri Lanka and widespread rain with thundershowers in the western parts of Idukki district in Kerala, Erattupetta in Kottayam district and Muvattupuzha Kothamangalam in the evening. There is a possibility of drizzle in Ottapalam area of Palakkad district at night and in coastal areas of Kozhikode district late at night.
