ഉത്തരാഖണ്ഡിലെ ജോഷിമഠിൽ ഉണ്ടായ ഭൂമി ഇടിഞ്ഞു താഴൽ മനുഷ്യ നിർമിത ദുരന്തമെന്ന് പരിസ്ഥിതി പ്രവർത്തകർ. അതീവ പരിസ്ഥിതി ദുർബല മേഖലയായ ഇവിടെ നടന്ന അശാസ്ത്രീയ നിർമ്മാണ പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങൾ ആണ് ദുരന്തത്തിന് പിന്നിൽ എന്ന് നാട്ടുകാർ ആരോപിക്കുന്നു.

പൊതുമേഖലാ കമ്പനിയായ നാഷനൽ തെർമൽ പവർ കോർപറേഷ (എൻ.ടി.പി.സി)ന്റെ പ്രോജക്ടിനായി നടത്തിയ നിർമാണ പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങളാണ് മേഖലയിൽ പ്രകമ്പനങ്ങൾ സൃഷ്ടിച്ചതെന്ന് നാട്ടു കാർ പറയുന്നു. പദ്ധതിക്കായി നടത്തിയ സ്ഫോടനങ്ങൾ അപ കടകരമാണെന്ന് കാണിച്ച് മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി പുഷ്കർ സിംഗ് ധാമിക്ക് പ്രദേശത്തുകാർ കത്തയച്ചിരുന്നു. പദ്ധതി പ്രവർത്തനം ഉടൻ നിർത്തിവെക്കണമെന്ന് പരിസ്ഥിതി പ്രവർത്തകർ ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നു.

മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിക്ക് നിർദേശങ്ങൾ സമർപ്പിക്കാൻ പ്രദേശവാസികളുടെ നിവേദനം ലഭിച്ചിരുന്നതായി ജില്ലാ കലക്ടർ ഹിമാൻഹു ഖുറാന സമ്മതിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. എന്നാൽ, ഇക്കാര്യത്തിൽ ശാസ്ത്രീയ സ്ഥിരീകരണമില്ലാതെ നടപടിയെടുക്കാനാകുമായി രുന്നില്ലെന്ന് ഖുറാന വാർത്താ ഏജൻസിയോട് പറഞ്ഞു.

തീർഥാടന കേന്ദ്രങ്ങളായ ബദരീനാഥ്, ഹേമ കുണ്ഡ് സാഹിബ്, അന്താരാഷ്ട്ര സീയിംഗ് ലക്ഷ്യസ്ഥാനമായ ഔലി എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിലേക്കുള്ള കവാടമായ ജോഷിമഠിൽ വലിയ വി ള്ളലുകളുണ്ടാകുകയും ക്രമേണ എല്ലാം അതിലേക്ക് താഴ്ന്നുപോ കുകയുമാണ്. 600ലേറെ വീടു കേടുപാടുകൾ സംഭവിക്കുകയും ഒരു ക്ഷേത്രം പാടേ തകരുകയും ചെയ്തു. മാർവാരി പ്രദേശത്തെ ജലാശയം പൊട്ടിയതിനെ തുടർന്ന് പട്ടണത്തിൽ ശക്തമായ ജലപ്രവാഹമുണ്ടായി. 4,500 വീടുകളാണ് ഇവിടെയുള്ളത്.

പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി നരേന്ദ്ര മോദി സ്ഥിതിഗതികൾ നേരിട്ട് വിലയിരുത്തുന്നുണ്ട്. ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥരും ഭൗമ ശാസ്ത്രഞ്ജരും ഇരുട്ടിൽ തപ്പുകയാണ്. 4,500 കെട്ടിട്ടങ്ങൾ ഉള്ളതിൽ 600 ലേറെ കെട്ടിടം തകർന്നു കഴിഞ്ഞു. മേഖല സുരക്ഷിതമല്ലാത്ത പ്രദേശമായി പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചു കഴിഞ്ഞു.
