An earthquake of 2.8 magnitude was felt in Thrissur. According to a report by Germany-based private seismologist Volcano Discovery, the quake was suspected to have a magnitude of 2.8. The earthquake occurred at a depth of 10 km. A double rumble was felt at 01.01 pm on Sunday in Thrikkur, Alagappanagar and Varantharapilly areas near Mukundapuram.
This is the third time the tremor has been felt in five days. As people panicked, Collector VR Krishna Teja visited the spot. The collector had said that there is no need to fear and no earthquake has been recorded at the National Center for Seismology. People knew the movement by hearing the sound of pots and other things being shaken. Residents of the area are worried and scared due to continuous tremors.
