It rained in most parts of the UAE, including the emirates of Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah, this afternoon. An alert has been issued in most parts of the country. Yellow and orange alerts have been announced. The alert is till 8.30 tonight in some parts of Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah and other emirates.
Visibility on the roads was minimal and traffic was affected. Officials have reminded people not to go to low-lying areas and water bodies and if they violate the law, they will face punishment.
Abu Dhabi Police said via X that motorists should be cautious in the rain and pay attention to changing speed limits displayed on electronic road signs.
Sharjah Police urged drivers to avoid speeding and obey traffic rules in bad weather. Residents should avoid going out in hazardous conditions and wait until the weather improves. It is also advised to keep a safe distance between vehicles on the road in case of unavoidable circumstances.

The NCM also warned residents to stay away from the eastern parts of the country due to the possibility of flooding.
Temperatures will drop to 26 degrees Celsius in Abu Dhabi and 27 degrees Celsius in Dubai. Temperatures are likely to drop to 16 degrees Celsius today in mountainous areas.
Seas are moderate to rough at times along the Arabian Gulf coast and light to moderate in the Oman Sea.
