The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert in various districts till May 31 due to extreme heat wave conditions. The maximum temperature in Kollam and Palakkad districts is expected to rise to 39°C, thrissur district will record a maximum temperature of 38°C, pathanamthitta and Kannur districts by 37°C, and kottayam, Kozhikode, Malappuram and Kasaragod districts by 36°C. It is 2 to 3 degrees above normal.

Due to high temperatures and humid air, in these districts, except in hilly areas, there is a possibility of hot and disturbed weather from March 27 to 31, 2024.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has informed that there is a possibility of rain in eight districts today. The meteorological department has predicted rainfall in Kollam, Thiruvananthapuram, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki and Thrissur districts. A rain warning has been issued in the same districts for the next day as well.
