According to NCS, an earthquake measuring 4.1 on the Richter scale had struck the Leh district of Ladakh an hour earlier. The magnitude of the earthquake was 10, and it struck at 2:16 a.m. An earthquake of magnitude 4.1 struck on June 18, 2023, at 02:16:49 IST, Longitude: 35.85 & Long: 80.08, Depth: 10 kilometers, at: 295 kilometers NE of Leh, Ladakh,” NCS tweeted.
Prior to that, late on June 17, earthquakes struck Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district and Ladakh. At 9:44 p.m., a 4.5-magnitude earthquake struck Ladakh, followed by a 4.4-magnitude earthquake in the Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir 10 minutes later.
