Summer Rains falls short by more than 50%

Kerala badly hit by deficient summer rains

Kerala has started to feel the real pinch of the drastic deficit in summer showers. Wells are fast going dry in most of the eastern pockets of Malabar. As on date the summer showers in all districts of Kerala is trailing by a massive 50% deficit. Except Alappuzha, Pathanamthitta and Thiruvananthapuram, all the other 11 districts are badly hit.

Wet spell soon to be active

Though the heatwave conditions may linger for 2 more days, there are more than 85% chances of good thundershowers in Kerala, Interior Karnataka and interior Tamil Nadu. Analysis of atmospheric circulation patterns reveal wind discontinuity and upper level divergence gradually aligning over south India.
