Heavy heat and dust storm in Mekkah and Medina; Pilgrims cautioned

Saudi National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has forecasted the Hajj season weather in Makkah and Madinah. The NCM has advised pilgrims to brace themselves for relatively hot and dry conditions during the day as the temperature in Makkah could reach 43.6 degrees Celsius and 43 degrees Celsius in Madinah.

In addition to the intense heat, the NCM has also forecast winds that could cause reduced visibility. As the average wind speed in Makkah varies from 4 to 10 km/h in the north-northwest direction, it can cause dust storms. In Madinah, wind speed of 12 kmph will also cause dust storm. These winds will primarily be from the west to the northwest.
Night weather will be pleasant in both the cities.

The average minimum temperature drops to 29.6°C in Makkah and 29.3°C in Madinah. Pilgrims should keep an eye on the weather conditions and take proper precautions accordingly, NCM said. The NCM said it will continue to monitor the situation and provide further updates if necessary.
