Muscat: An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.8 was monitored in the Oman Sea on Friday, October 21, 2023, according to the Earthquake Monitoring Centre (EMC). The residents of South Al Sharqiyah Governorate felt the shake.
The Earthquake Monitoring Centre (EMC) at Sultan Qaboos University said an earthquake was recorded in Oman sea at 10.00 AM MCT, at a depth of 5 KM. The quake was recorded 57 kms North-East of the wilayat of Sur in South Al Sharqiyah.
