Earthquake felt in Delhi-NCR; The epicenter is Afghanistan

Earthquake was felt in Delhi and surrounding areas on Thursday afternoon. The earthquake was also felt in the National Capital Region of Noida, Ghaziabad, Faridabad and Gurugram.

According to the National Center for Seismology, the nodal agency of the Government of India for monitoring seismic activity, the epicenter of the earthquake is Afghanistan.

Earthquakes were also felt in Chandigarh, Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana, Punjab and other parts of North India.

Pakistani media reported that the earthquake was also felt in Lahore, Islamabad and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cities.

The earthquake was felt in India and Pakistan at 2.50 pm.

No casualties or property losses were reported.

The epicenter of the earthquake was 241 km north-northeast of Kabul, Afghanistan.

The earthquake caused panic among the people and many furniture was reported shaken in Delhi and the National Capital Region.

Many panicked people ran out of their homes and workplaces.

Meanwhile, at 2.20 pm, an earthquake measuring 6.0 on the Richter scale was felt in some parts of Pakistan, the Pakistan Meteorological Department said. PTI reported that the epicenter of the earthquake was in the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan.

The U.S. Geological Survey reported an earthquake measuring 6.4 on the Richter scale.
