Earthquake India 08/12/23: Earthquake in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka
Earthquakes were felt in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. The earthquake occurred in Chengalpet near Chennai in Tamil Nadu. The earthquake measuring 3.2 on the Richter scale occurred at 7:39 am. But no damage was reported. 10 km The earthquake occurred at low altitude.
Meanwhile, Vijayapura in Karnataka was also hit by a minor earthquake. The earthquake occurred at 6.52 am. The magnitude of the earthquake was 3.1 on the Richter scale. But no damage was reported. This earthquake was also felt at a depth of 10 km.
The Union Ministry of Earth Sciences had announced yesterday that earthquakes will occur in more areas in India this year. Union Minister Kiren Riju answered the question raised in the Lok Sabha. On October 30, an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.6 was felt 31 km south of Palakkad.
