Bengal: cyclonic circulation could affect winter onset

A cyclone is likely to form in the Bay of Bengal on Monday, potentially disrupting the arrival of winter in Bengal, the weather department said on Saturday. According to a Japan Meteorological Agency official, the cyclonic circulation will turn into a low-pressure system on November 29, which could prevent temperatures from dropping.

Currently, there is no rain forecast in Bengal. A cyclone is likely to form in the Bay of Bengal on November 27th. It will develop into a low pressure system on November 29th. It is too early to say whether there will be rain in the state or not,” the official said.

However, the system is likely to obstruct the arrival of winter in the state. For the next five days the weather will remain dry in the state. The minimum temperature is likely to be around 20 degrees Celsius,” he added.

The official also said that once the depression is formed it’s likely to move towards Andhra Pradesh and will not have a direct impact on weather conditions in Bengal.

[11/26, 10:13 PM] sinjup sivadas: “Temperatures will rise over the next 5 days. Temperatures will drop significantly as the system clears. However, low temperatures will drop significantly over the next 5 days. It will not go down,” the official said. Officials said the dry weather continued in north Bengal as well.
