Position Overview:
As the Passenger Operations and Crew Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the excellence of our passenger train services. Reporting to the Head of Passenger Services, you will be responsible for overseeing a substantial team of Onboard Supervisors and Onboard Hosts, managing onboard crew members, and upholding the highest standards of service quality, and operational safety competence.
Main Responsibility:
- Lead, mentor, and supervise a large team of Onboard Supervisors and Onboard Hosts, providing guidance, support, and direction to ensure the highest level of service excellence.
- Oversee all aspects of onboard crew members’ performance, including onboard hosts, catering staff, and service personnel, ensuring their adherence to service standards and providing coaching and development opportunities.
- Be the Passenger Services Lead for all Onboard train operational start up activities including writing and developing operating procedures for Safety Critical roles.
- Act as the competent person and have full accountability of the Safety and Competence Management System for the operational staff within your remit.
- Ensure the seamless operation of onboard services, including catering, amenities, and passenger assistance, to provide a top-tier travel experience for passengers.
- Enforce safety protocols and compliance with industry regulations, prioritizing the safety and well-being of passengers and crew members throughout the journey.
- Efficiently allocate onboard resources, including crew members and supplies, to meet passenger needs and maintain cost-effectiveness.
- Develop and implement comprehensive training and development programs for crew members, focusing on customer service, safety procedures, and compliance.
- Conduct rigorous assessments of onboard services and facilities, implementing improvements as needed to elevate passenger satisfaction.
- Assist in the development and management of the onboard services budget, closely monitoring expenses, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.

Desirable qualifications, skills, and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, Transportation Management, or a related field (relevant certifications or training in passenger services is a plus).
- 15+ years of experience in passenger railway services, onboard services, or a related field, with a demonstrated track record of leadership and team management.
- Experience of at least 1 major passenger rail start up from planning through to implementation.
- Ideally the candidate will have knowledge and experience within the Middle East
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- At least 5 years’ experience in managing staff within a competence management framework including conducting staff assessments and reviews.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Railway Rules, Safety regulations and emergency response procedures in the passenger railway industry.

Head of Commercial Systems

The Head of Commercial Systems, is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of the commercial systems including all of the point of sales systems (website, mobile app, station app), the yield management system and the Central Reservation System.
Roles and Responsibility:
- Roadmap & planning:
- Identify and prioritize system enhancements that support revenue growth, cost optimization, and customer satisfaction

Systems and Facilities Director

The Systems and Facilities Director is responsible for the Overall Signalling, Telecommunication, Power and Facilities Maintenance delivery programme as well as the compliance of set OT Information Security rules and guidelines.
As part of his duties, he/she manages fully the Maintenance Services outsourced contracts with the support of the Signalling, Telecommunications, Power, Facilities Maintenance and Infrastructure Contract Managers. Additionally responsible for strategic direction, budget definition, Standards and competence management compliance within the Systems department.
Main Responsibility:
· Responsible for the delivery of all Systems related maintenance services including the management of all Systems and Facilities Related Outsourced services with the support of both technical Managers and the Infrastructure Contract Manager.
· Ensures a Standardized approach to safe working conditions and practices so as to ensure a safe working environment for all Employees and Contractors across the UAE wide Etihad Rail Network.
· Participates on the Quarterly meetings with the Service Providers Maintenance Director, Senior Managers and Contractor’s representatives to discuss on-going issues, issue resolution and disputes.
· Prepares and defines the budget and staffing requirements for the national wide Systems Department and support the Infrastructure Director in the definition of the yearly Operational Budget.
· Monitors the overall performance of the Systems, including the Life Cycle Costs, and forecast end-of-life expenditure considering asset lifecycle, obsolescence, identified business risks.
· Sets network wide Systems Maintenance strategies and direction to ensure that the maintenance services are delivered, on-time, on budget and compliant to approved safety standards.
· Reviews and approves System related renewals and sponsors the deployment of approved changes, including the creation and presentation of business cases to Senior Management, as required.
· Acts as Technical Authority in regards to Design and Systems Asset changes.
· Reviews all System maintenance related Procedures, Instructions, Forms in accordance with the strategy and Business goals.
· Reviews and approves the Maintenance Service Provider Yearly Asset Maintenance Condition Report.
· Supports the Company in Business development opportunities as required and in-line with the Head of Systems and Facilities technical competence.
· Covers the Infrastructure Director duties during his absence and undertakes similar and related tasks and duties as directed by the Supervisory function;
Academic Qualifications:
· University degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent;
Professional Qualifications & Knowledge:
- Full driving license or ability to convert it to UAE License
- Member of a Recognized Professional Engineering Association
- Technical knowledge of Railway Signalling, Telecommunications, Power and MEP systems
- Knowledge of Asset Management and Reliability standards
- Knowledge of applicable railway standards (ETCS, EN50126, EN50128 and EN50129)
- Knowledge of Information Security Standards and Principles
- Knowledge of auditing techniques
Experience:
- 20 years’ experience on Railway Systems, preferably including the whole railway lifecycle (FEED, Design, Installation, Test & Commissioning and Operations & Maintenance).
- 12 years’ relevant experience in Signalling, Telecommunications and Power Systems Maintenance Management.
- Preferably with experience in Facility Management
- Proven experience in a similar position within Railway Sector.
- Relevant experience in a heavy rail environment in the Middle East.
- Demonstrable working experience with ETCS / ERTMS Operation and Maintenance
