In this Pre Monsoon season, As an upper level cyclonic low persists over central Bay of Bengal off the coast of Tamil Nadu, and as the wind orientation is north- west to south- east, maximum inpact is likely over coastal Ernakulam & Thrissur, eastern pockets of Ernakulam, Kottayam, Pathanamthitta, and Idukki.

As the low level westerlies have strengthened over the Arabian sea, the combined effect would be extreme heavy rains in the above areas. The high range areas to be on high alert for 48 hrs from 20th afternoon.
