കനത്ത മഴയെ തുടർന്നാണ് ഖനിയിൽ മണ്ണിടിച്ചിൽ ഉണ്ടായത്. ചിലർ ഇപ്പോഴും ഖനിയിൽ കുടുങ്ങിക്കിടക്കുകയാണ്. ഇതുവരെ അവരെ വീണ്ടെടുക്കാൻ കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടില്ല.
