ഹോർട്ടികൾച്ചർ വകുപ്പ് നടത്തിയ പരിശോധനയിൽ ഏകദേശം 440 ആപ്പിൾ മരങ്ങൾ നശിച്ചതായും വലിയ സാമ്പത്തിക നഷ്ടമുണ്ടായതായും കണ്ടെത്തി. തുടക്കത്തിൽ ഏകദേശം 40 ലക്ഷം രൂപയുടെ നഷ്ടമാണ് വകുപ്പ് കണക്കാക്കിയിരുന്നത്.
