A new weather system is forming, it is likely to move around the sea and weaken before dissipating, rain is expected everywhere in Kerala

Since Tuesday, some areas in one or two districts including Wayanad district have started receiving thundershowers. The rain also reached Thiruvambady in Kozhikode the other day. Various areas in Kottayam and Pathanamthitta districts have also received rain in the past few weeks. Such rains are likely to continue in some districts here and there in the next two days.

Another weather system

In addition to the weather system currently located south/southeast of Sri Lanka, another weather system will soon form near Banda Aceh in Indonesia.
This newly forming weather system is likely to reach the northern Sri Lanka coast/Karakkal/Kudalur coasts in Tamil Nadu by February 21/22 as a strong weather system/low pressure. Later, it is likely to move around the sea in this area and weaken before dissipating. The weather system currently prevailing south/southeast of Sri Lanka is likely to move towards the Indian Ocean between Maldives and southern Sri Lanka today and tomorrow. Due to the influence of these two weather systems, from February 21st, all districts in Kerala, especially in more areas of central and southern Kerala, are likely to receive thundershowers in the afternoon or after noon until the early hours of the morning.

The chances of rain are highest on February 21st and 22nd. Although there will be less rain in the areas receiving rain from February 23rd, the weather will not be completely dry. Thundershowers are likely to continue in some districts, some eastern and central western areas or here and there until the first days of March. Strong sun/heat will continue to be felt in all areas until the afternoon.
