കോഴിക്കോട് മുതൽ എറണാകുളം വരെയുള്ള ജില്ലകളിലും ഇടവിട്ട മഴ തുടരും. മറ്റു ജില്ലകളിലും ദീർഘമായ ഇടവേളകളുടെ മഴപെയ്യും. ഇത് കഴിഞ്ഞ ദിവസത്തെ അപേക്ഷിച്ച് ഇന്ന് മികച്ച ജില്ലകളിലും മഴ കുറവായിരിക്കും. നാളെ ഉച്ചയ്ക്ക് ശേഷം എല്ലാ ജില്ലകളിലും മഴ സാധ്യത കൂടും. 

പസഫിക് സമുദ്രത്തിലെ (Pacific Ocean) ഉപരിതല ജലത്തിന്റെ അസാധാരണമായ താപവർധനവിന്റെ ഫലമായാണ് എൽ-നിനോ പ്രതിഭാസം രൂപപ്പെടുന്നതെന്ന് മന്ത്രി വിശദീകരിച്ചു.

The flagship Independence Day Parade scheduled in Washington, D.C. as part of the nation’s 250th anniversary celebrations was cancelled following severe heat warnings issued by the National Weather Service (NWS).

ആഫ്രിക്കയുടെ കിഴക്കന്‍ തീരത്തുനിന്നും (സൊമാലിയക്ക് സമീപം) ആരംഭിച്ച് അറബിക്കടല്‍ കടന്ന് ഇന്ത്യയുടെ പടിഞ്ഞാറന്‍ തീരത്തേക്ക് (പ്രത്യേകിച്ച് കേരളത്തിലേക്ക്) വീശുന്ന അതിശക്തമായ താഴ്ന്ന നിലയിലുള്ള കാറ്റാണിത് (Lowlevel jet tsream).
